Pieces are the fundamental unit of Chess. Similar to the planck length in physics, there is no possible component of chess that is smaller than the Piece. Because of this, tokens like gold and wood are considered pieces, as are unavoidable contaminants from the room in which the game of Chess is being played (e.g., dust specks).
There are seven pieces in Chess:
- King
- Queen
- Bishop
- Horsey
- Rook
- Castle
- Pawn
- Professor Plum
- Swordsman
- Board
- Skateboard
- Adam
- Mallory's Inkling
- Lamp
- Ivysaur
- Oxytocin
- Superking
- Wizard/Sorceress
- Neotank
- Upside-Down Rook
