Live Chess overthrows the usually turn-based nature of Chess to favour a game of reflexes and tenacity.
All pieces function exactly as in Chess, except that they are not confined by the timing and alternation of turns. The Chess clock is used only as a starting gun, and from the moment of its signal both players must assault their opposing team as quickly as possible. It is recommended that each player have their hand on an initial piece to begin with, to be ready for their first move.
If two pieces seem to dispose each other at the same time, it is the player exerting more force that wins the showdown.
A similar variant of Chess can be achieved with all of the pieces replaced by Beetles.
